Export Registration Certificate (ERC) & Import Registration Certificate (IRC)

In Bangladesh Import Registration Certificate (IRC) and Export Registration Certificate (ERC) are the required documents for Importing and Exporting. Now an importer having Import Registration Certificate (IRC) and an Exporter having Export Registration Certificate (ERC) can Import & Export any permissible item without any value and quantity restrictions and without obtaining any permission from any authority. In this article we have discussed the procedure for issuance of Import Registration Certificate (IRC) and Export Registration Certificate (ERC).

Import Registration Certificate (IRC)

Authority: Under the Ministry of Commerce, the Office of the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports is the sole authority for providing Import Registration Certificate (IRC).

Required Documents: The following documents are required for IRC are: 

(i) Trade Licence;
(ii) Membership Certificate from recognized Chamber/Trade Association;
(iii) Tax Identification Number;
(iv) Bank Certificate;
(v) Memorandum and Articles of Association and Certificate of
Incorporation (in case of Limited Company).

Registration Procedure: For Import Registration Certificate one have to follow the following steps:

  1. Online Application: Apply Online to the Office of the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports. 
  2. Application Filing: Have to entry the required information and submit the documents. 
  3. Fees: Have to deposit the fees as mentioned above. 
  4. Issuance of Certificate: After scrutinizing the application and submitted documents the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports will issue Certificate. 

Time Frame: It can be done within 2-3 Working Day. 

Export Registration Certificate (ERC)
